电子艺术是什么意思？
“Electronic art”（电子艺术）一词在艺术界使用广泛，不同国家、不同时期对其的定义也有不同的解释。 早在1984年联合国教科文组织便发布了《关于电子艺术的宣言》，对电子艺术的定义做了如下解析： “Electronics is not just for making machines. It is also a way to express ideas， feelings and sensations in addition to facts... it is a way of seeing and interpreting reality that can create new senses. Electronics has shaped our world and will continue to shape the future. Electronic arts are as old as electronics itself， but they have become more widespread only recently with the advent of personal computers and affordable video equipment；therefore，it is timely to discuss how we can promote this kind of activity all over the world. ” 该定义强调了电子技术、计算机技术在艺术创作中的重要性。
随着互联网与数字技术的迅猛发展，以虚拟现实为代表的新兴技术不断变革着人们的思维方式和生活方式，并深刻地影响着文化艺术产业。2016年，美国艺术中心设计学院（Art Center College of Design）将“Design for Virtual Reality”纳入了本科设计的课程设置中；同年的维纳伯格艺术学院（Wienerberger Academy of Fine Arts）则成立了专门研究虚拟现实的机构——新媒介工作室（New Media Workshop），旨在培养年轻人进行虚拟现实相关的创作。
