the definition of stress: pressure, tension, strain
The causes of the stress:
job
exams
relationship
housing
moving to a big city like Beijing, Shanghai
My stress:
I am not a person who has great tolerance to any emotional stress or psychological impact, so all these little daily things can bother me, make me unhappy, uncomfortable and anxious, then stressed. I am now a student studying in a Beijing university, from far away country in the south of China. So the first reason of the stress is about the language, Chinese language, I have learned the language for 4 years and still cannot speak fluently and neither can I hear and understand everything the others are telling me, especially at a fast speed. When the language is the barrier between me and other people, then at work, at class, and in daily life, lots of people cannot follow what I say and I cannot make sense what others are saying. So I will lose my confidence and become really nervous and stressed at that moment so I keep very scared of being called or asked any questions in the class. Another reason is the pressure from the study. We have different courses in different days and we study till 9:30 p.m. in the night. But we are not even allowed to sleep early to rest, because we are facing all the time exams, our parents, our future, and many other questions.
What I do to make myself feel better:
I always make a schedule, like a to do list for the whole day, and I will not put too many things in one list. During the whole day, I will not always do the most difficult thing, but instead, maybe I do a simpler task first to encourage myself and cheer me up, then try the more difficult thing. Besides, the time to do anything is fixed and I will keep enough relaxing time to see some movie that I like or take a walk with my best friends. This makes feel much better, less stressed.
